Some of you may remember last season 20 year old Trevor Bayne was driving for Diamond- Waltrip Racing in the nationwide Series and was released from his contract and Ryan took over in the #99 MWR Nationwide car for the remainder of the season. Truex launched his Nationwide Series career in 2010, achieving a pole at Michigan and earning three top-15 finishes in his first seven Nationwide Series starts for MWR. This season, Ryan competed in ten races in the Nationwide Series with Pastrana-Waltrip Racing, until a lack of funding and sponsorship took him out of the car.
On September 3rd Ryan is getting a great opportunity that he has probably been thinking about since he lost his ride at Pastrana- Waltrip racing- he is going to be back in the Nationwide series in a couple weeks. Ryan will be piloting the Joe Gibbs racing Nationwide No.20 Toyota at Atlanta Speedway; he will also be in the car at Richmond, Chicagoland, Dover, Kansas, and Phoenix for the nationwide event.
I’m sure all of the Ryan Truex fans are excited to hear that Ryan will be back in the Nationwide series in a couple weeks. Ryan is getting an excellent opportunity to drive for one of the best NASCAR teams and I truly believe he has a good chance at doing very well in the #20 Nationwide Toyota. I will admit that Ryan did struggled a lot in the 10 races that he did run this season and that’s mostly because he is still a rookie in the nationwide series and he needs to get more experience. When he starts his 6 race contract with Joe Gibbs racing he will have three talented teammates( Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano )that can help him improve in the nationwide series. After his 6 race contract is up, it is uncertain on what Ryan’s future will be in the NASCAR Nationwide series, so we will have to wait and see on what the future will be for Ryan. For right now, it’s still great to hear that Ryan is getting a great opportunity to be driving for JGR.
To Ryan Truex: Congratulation on getting a 6 race contract with Joe Gibbs Racing and good luck in September at Atlanta!
